All Spruced Up Tree Skirt

Will you have some downtime during the Thanksgiving long weekend? If so, I have some quilting ideas for you! They are fast to sew and will get you ready for Christmas.

Tree Skirts for the Holidays from Made By Marney

As I started putting up my Christmas decorations, I realized I have plenty of Christmas tree skirts to choose from. They are all handmade and, of course, all paper pieced.

BEAR-Y CHRISTMAS TREE SKIRT

Any tree skirt pattern can be created as a table topper instead, just don’t cut the hole in the center. The BEARY-Y CHRISTMAS TREE SKIRT would also make a super cute table centerpiece.

When I am decorating using a more farmhouse look, I use this tree skirt.

LITTLE RED TRUCK TREE SKIRT is so easy! Consider using fabric photos to paper ...

LITTLE RED TRUCK TREE SKIRT

Mermaid Rides the Elephant from Sew Preeti Quilts

I have a new finish to share but would you, could you wait till I share some news? Pretty, please.

I am in a magazine...well, my work is.

A couple of weeks ago I received an email from Diptee Raut of Quilt Stories, asking if I'd consider contributing to India's first quilting magazine.  I was so slammed at that time that I told Diptee - Take a look at my blog and use whatever you like. Diptee chose the tutorial for the Picket Star Quilt Block and here is the link to the magazine

Courage uses the Picket ...

Island Batik July Challenge - The Holly Family from Sew Preeti Quilts

The Island Batik Challenge for July urged us to get an early start on Christmas and other end of the year holiday projects!

In my first Island Batik Ambassador Box, I had received a strip set of Holly Holiday fabric, designed by Kathy Engle. With deep red/dark green colors and reindeer/pine shaped trees it screams Christmas. Naturally I set it aside for the July challenge.

Quick Tree Skirt Pattern by Julia Deal from Quiltwoman Blog

Despite the initial geometry used in development, the Modern Spiral Tree Skirt (SEW-104) was the most fun of any pattern I’ve written, and it came together in record time thanks to the mathematical assistance of my college age son. We collaborated on the trigonometry via text during his freshman year at RIT.

I was determined to design a wedged tree skirt that tessellated easily into a circle, yet didn’t waste lots of fabric. I also was hoping to utilize fat quarters since I had a stack of Christmas holiday fat quarters on hand.

For about a week my ...

Christmas In July Pattern Parade Blog Hop! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Welcome to my little part of the Christmas in July Pattern Parade Blog Hop!  I'm so happy to be here with you, and I hope you'll enjoy what I and all of my fellow contributors have come up with for you.

It's been a strange journey this year, hasn't it?  You may recall that I usually have a twelve day Christmas in July celebration on my own blog, but this year that just didn't work out.  So I was tickled to death when Carole of From My Caroline Home asked me to be ...

fabric and day off frolics from Charm About You

I'm gearing up to prepare for next year, despite this definitely being the time of year where I feel like hibernating! It's time to make plans, thinking about what next year will bring and sorting out sewing projects. I'm hoping to get things in order over the Christmas break, sorting out my sewing stuff ready for a fresh start in 2020. Recently there have been a few stash additions, I've been out in Manchester stocking up and enjoying cheese toasties, and finally sneaking some project finishes in!

As I continue to work on my Manx Log ...
